Animals help humans in ways words can’t
Over 500,000 Australian’s live with mental illness – and the demand for support continues to grow.
Who are we?
Animal Therapies Ltd (ATL) is a community-funded national charity dedicated to making animal-assisted mental health support accessible to those who need it most – but can’t afford it.
Your donation has the power to change lives. Every dollar you give helps connect someone in need with the healing power of animal-assisted support – improving mental health, restoring wellbeing, and bringing real hope.
We rely on the generosity of individuals, schools, businesses, and corporate partners to continue delivering our animal-assisted mental health outreach program across Australia. That includes people like you.

JUNE APPEAL 2026
Before 30 June, I’m personally asking for your support.
Hi, I’m Carolyn, and I’m the fundraising lead at Animal Therapies Ltd — a small Australian charity that makes a huge impact, helping vulnerable and at-risk people access animal-assisted mental health support.
Many people who come to us are living with mental health conditions, disability, illness, trauma, financial hardship or crisis. Many simply do not have the means to pay for support that is becoming increasingly expensive and harder to access.
And right now, the need is growing.
Animal Therapies Ltd was founded almost nine years ago by Wendy Coombe. What many people may not know is that in all that time, Wendy has never drawn a salary — not a cent.
She continues to give countless hours to people reaching out for help, professional members seeking guidance, and agencies trying to support those in crisis. She does this with one purpose: to advance animal-assisted services and improve the mental health and wellbeing of vulnerable people across Australia.
But we cannot meet the growing demand alone.
Animal Therapies Ltd has:
• Funded more than 10,000 sessions of animal-assisted mental health support
• Responded to over 3000 calls last financial year
• Supported many young people, with over 65% of those helped aged under 25
We now have a waiting list — and it continues to grow.
Animal Therapies Ltd receives no government funding to deliver these services. That is why, before 30 June, I am asking our community, businesses, philanthropists and valued professional members to consider making a donation.
Every donation, large or small, will help us respond to people who are reaching out for support now.
As the end of financial year approaches, we know there are many worthwhile causes asking for help.
Today, I am asking you to please consider supporting Animal Therapies Ltd.
Please donate before 30 June so this important work can continue.
Thank you for your support.
